At the end of an exhilarating day in the mountains, Chalet Nivalis offers a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, ideal for both relaxation and fun. The four comfortable bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements, offering a choice of a king-size bed or two single beds: perfect for a stay with friends or family.
This high-end 4 star property features an outdoor hot tub and a sunny terrace with superb views of the mountains, as well as a games room and an office space that’s ideal for remote working. There’s also a bike store and workshop for cyclists, and a practical charging station for electric vehicles.
Situated in Valmeinier 1500, a Savoyard resort perched above the Maurienne Valley, the chalet is in the heart of a spectacular natural landscape, just 280m away from the pistes and lifts. You’ll find a wide range of outdoor activities in every season. There are winter sports in the resort’s ski area, which benefits from good snow cover all season thanks to its high altitude. Outside the ski season, you'll find water sports in the Maurienne valley, as well as hiking and cycling in the Vanoise National Park and the Cerces massif.
The village has retained its authentic character while still providing all the shops you’ll need during your stay. It’s a great destination for those looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts.
About the property…
Chalet Nivalis is a three-storey chalet sleeping up to 8 guests, with four flexible bedrooms and three bathrooms, making it ideal for a holiday with family or friends in the mountains.
The ground floor is dedicated to leisure and outdoor activities. A fully equipped games room (table football, table tennis, darts, games console, TV and board games) provides entertainment for all ages. There is also a ski room with heated boot warmers and a bike storage area with a fully equipped repair workshop, perfect for preparing your outdoor adventures. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer completes this level.
The first floor is home to the sleeping area and a quiet workspace. Four flexible bedrooms can be arranged as king-size doubles or twin beds. Two master bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms (one with a shower, the other with a whirlpool bath and balcony), each with its own TV. Two further bedrooms share a modern shower room with WC. A dedicated office space makes it easy to work remotely in peace, and there is also a separate WC.
On the top floor, a bright open-plan living area under exposed beams features a cosy lounge with fireplace, TV, L-shaped sofa and comfortable armchairs. The modern, fully equipped kitchen opens onto a spacious dining area, perfect for sharing meals together.
At the rear of the chalet, a large terrace offers sun loungers, an outdoor dining table and a private hot tub — the perfect place to relax after a day in the mountains.
The chalet also offers parking for two cars and an electric vehicle charging point. The ski slopes and lifts are just 280 metres away, allowing you to reach the ski area in less than four minutes on foot. Shops, restaurants and the ski school (ESF) are all within easy reach in the village of Valmeinier 1500.

Valmeinier is a Savoyard resort perched above the Maurienne Valley, close to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne and Saint-Jean-d’Arves. Overlooking the peaks of the Cerces mountains, the commune is made up of the historic village with its traditional slate roofs, and the tourist resort of Valmeinier 1800. Its friendly atmosphere and generous sunshine make it popular with both families and nature lovers. Access to the area is easy by train or plane, and if you’re driving, via the A43 motorway.
In winter, Valmeinier is in the Galibier-Thabor ski area, which also includes the resort of Valloire. The altitude ranges from 1,500-2,750m, offering 160km of slopes for all levels across four mountain ranges equipped with high-capacity ski lifts. And with 70% of the area above 2,000m, high-quality snow cover is assured from December to April. The Orelle cable car, which will take you to Val Thorens, is a 25-minute drive away. Other activities such as cross-country skiing, sledging, paragliding, and microlight flying are also available.
During the rest of the year, a wealth of footpaths and cycle trails lead to high-altitude lakes, alpine pastures and panoramic views over the surrounding mountains, in particular the Aiguilles d’Arves and the Vanoise range. Valmeinier is in the heart of the Mont Thabor Natura 2000 nature reserve, where you can enjoy activities such as hiking, paragliding, rafting, fishing, tennis and swimming. There are also leisure centres, such as those in Bessans and Saint-Rémy for swimming, cooling off and having fun. From the chalet, walkers can explore the Vallon de la Neuvache, or tackle Mont Thabor (3,178 m). There are also stunning mountain lakes such as Lac Vert and Lac Bissorte.
Chalet Nivalis is a great choice for cyclists as it is on the road to the Galibier and Télégraphe passes. It is also very close to the biggest passes in Savoie, such as Iseran, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Madeleine and Lacets de Montvernier. Valmeinier hosts the French Mountain Biking Cup, so mountain bikers can explore professional trails, combining technical descents and panoramic e-MTB routes.

“A luxurious and serene interlude”
We had an absolutely magical stay at Chalet Nivalis. As soon as you walk in, you are struck by the beauty of the contemporary design, which blends perfectly with the mountain spirit. The large living areas are bathed in light thanks to the huge bay windows, offering breathtaking views of the Valmeinier peaks. The kitchen is very well equipped, which made our family dinners particularly enjoyable. Special mention for the wellness area: after a day on the slopes, the jacuzzi is pure bliss. “The perfect chalet for 2 families”
It's hard to find a chalet that combines elegance and functionality so well for two families. The children loved their dedicated space, while the adults enjoyed the spacious living room. Each bedroom is a real cocoon and the bathrooms are beautifully equipped, with whirlpool baths and luxurious walk-in showers. Chalet Nivalis is the result of a dream come true for us. We wanted to create a warm and elegant place, designed to welcome families and friends in an exceptional setting.
Nestled in Valmeinier 1500, in the heart of the Galibier–Thabor ski area, it offers direct access to 160km of pistes between 1,400 and 2,800 metres, with guaranteed snow cover throughout the winter.
This project was born from a love for the wild beauty of the Maurienne, blending unspoilt nature with year-round mountain pleasures. Every space has been carefully designed: bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a home office area, a games room, a spa bath, a hot tub… all with a contemporary alpine style featuring clean lines and natural materials.
It is a place created for comfort, togetherness, and unforgettable memories.
